My story

I was born in 1981 in Krakow, the capital of Polish kings, in a city of culture and art with over 800 years of history, reflected in its unique, historical architecture - which is so exceptional that the entire historic center has been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Growing up in this atmosphere and space shaped my sensitivity to the beauty of historic buildings and their importance in creating an architectural environment that respects the past and, at the same time, serves perfectly in the future. I was fortunate to experience this firsthand, despite the difficult times of political and social change leading up to the collapse of communism in Central Europe. Undoubtedly, these facts influenced my choice of career path and who I am today.

My specializations

With 20 years of professional experience, I hold a Master of Architecture degree from the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology, certified by the Royal Institute of British Architects. For the past five years, I have taught students at the Cracow University of Technology’s Department of Historic Preservation of Architectural and Urban Heritage, where I also earned my Ph.D. My passion for acquiring and sharing knowledge has led me to author and co-author books and numerous scientific publications on the theory and practice of historical architectural conservation. Professionally, I serve as a specialist and consultant for architectural studios, providing expert advice on projects within historical urban environments, historic buildings, and new constructions that reference historical styles. In recent years, my interests have increasingly focused on the history and preservation of Western architectural heritage, particularly in the United States.
